THE BIBLE IN 90 DAYS CONCLUDES!
As our first anniversary event, a special Bible reading program called The Bible In 90 Days challenged each of us to engage in a collective experience to become more biblically literate. Twenty members of St. Paul accepted and completed this exciting challenge!
Participants read 12 pages of the Bible each day and attend a weekly meeting to discuss, reflect, and hear the lesson. This formula for success makes the Bible more approachable.
The Bible In 90 Days journey began on March 20th and concluded on June 19th with doughnuts, coffee, and fellowship.
Led by the Spirit, we will continue this awesome journey of faith
a study of people of the Bible each Sunday morning at 10:00.
The public is invited to attend.
Rev. John C. Pfisterer Celebrates
45 Years in the Ministry
July 10, 2010 marked St. Paul's second anniversary event to remember the organization of St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1941. What a special event it was!
On this special day, the congregation had the privilege of celebrating The Rev. John C. Pfisterer's 45th anniversary of his ordination to the Office of the Word and Sacrament on July 6, 1966. This event joined us together in the fellowship of the church and in the ministry to which we are all called.
Following the Lay Leadership service, members and guests joined in fellowship with a covered-dish luncheon followed by homemade ice cream and cake.
During the luncheon, Pastor Pfisterer was presented an elegant stained glass Luther's Rose. The cross was designed and made by Dr. Bill Haltiwanger, a charter member of St. Paul. A movie remembering Pastor Pfisterer's ministry followed the presentation.
Guests included members from Pastor Pfisterer's previous church, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Beachwood, NJ and friends from Our Savior Lutheran Church, Southern Pines.
