ST. PAUL CELEBRATES 75 YEARS

Sunday, December 11, 2016, was an amazing day of worship and fellowship as our congregation celebrated its 75th anniversary.  Rev. John Pfisterer presided during the service.  It was a pleasure to have the Rev. Timothy Smith, Bishop of the North Carolina Synod of the Lutheran Church in America, to deliver the sermon.  Former members and friends of the congregation joined us in worship and filled the rafters with song.

Following the service, the congregation continued the celebration at Cole Auditorium on the campus of Richmond Community College for a luncheon.  Rick Watkins, president of the Congregation Council, welcomed those in attendance.  He recognized Rev. Bill Jeffcoat, Rev. David Keck, Rev. David Vaughn, and Rev. Larry Wolfe, ministers who have served St. Paul.  Rich Larsen, vice-president of the Council, gave an interesting history of the church.

During the luncheon, guests had the opportunity to view original letters that documented the organization and building of the church.  A video documenting St. Paul's activities and members was also available for viewing and may be viewed below.
